Crochet Rainbow Baby Blanket FREE Pattern

My favorite thing about this design isn’t just the gorgeous rainbow stripes (because who doesn’t love a beautiful rainbow?!), it’s the incredible texture that looks equally beautiful on both sides!
This crochet rainbow baby blanket pattern includes 5 sizes (from lovey to crib), and whether you’re making a cuddly lovey or a cozy crib blanket, every size features the same nine vibrant rainbow stripes, creating a stunning rainbow effect regardless of which size you choose to crochet. Rainbow Isles – A Crochet Rainbow Baby Blanket

Tools and Materials
- Size 3 yarn
- US size G-6 (4mm) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge

Yarn Substitutions – I chose Truboo yarn for this project because it’s soft, durable, and comes in a beautiful range of rainbow colors. Instead of the traditional ROYGBIV rainbow, I opted for nine rainbow-y colors to create a luxurious look.

Pattern Notes
- Turning chains DO count as stitches.
- End of row stitch counts are given in angle brackets < > followed by “sts”.
- This pattern is written in 5 sizes as follows: Lovey (Security, Stroller, Receiving, Crib).
- Each size features nine rainbow stripes. Stripe widths vary by size to maintain the same colorful rainbow design.
- Each blanket size is designed with nine equal-width stripes. As a result, the total yardage required for each size can be divided by nine to determine the approximate amount of yarn needed for each color.
- Color changes are made in the final yarn over of the last stitch of the previous row.
