Husky Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Ears (make 2)

Make an adjustable ring with the pewter yarn.

R1. 4sc in the ring, pull to tighten (4)

R2. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in the next st*, repeat *to* (6)

R3. *2sc in each of the first 2 sts, 1sc in next st*, repeat *to* (10)

R4. 1sc in each st around (10)

R5. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in each of the next 4 sts*, repeat *to* (12)

R6. *2sc in each of the first 2 sts, 1sc in each of the next 4 sts*, repeat *to* (16)

R7. 1sc in each st around (16)

R8. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in each of the next 7 sts*, repeat *to* (18)

Cut yarn leaving about a 20-inch tail for sewing and fasten off.

Ear Embroidery Detail

Cut about a 20-inch length of white yarn and thread it onto the yarn needle. Follow the photo tutorial below to hand embroider the chain stitch detail onto the ears.

Front Legs (make 2)

Make an adjustable ring with the pewter yarn.

R1. 6sc in the ring, pull to tighten (6)

R2. 2sc in each st around (12)

R3. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in the next st*, repeat *to* around (18)

R4. 2dc in each of the first 4 sts, 1sc in each of the last 14 sts (22)

R5. 1hdc in each of the first 8 sts, 1sc in each of the last 14 sts (22)

R6. *sc2tog*, repeat *to* 3 times, 1sc in each of the last 14 sts (18)

R7. 1hdc in each of the first 4 sts, 1sc in each of the last 14 (18)

R8-15. 1sc in each st around (18)

R16. sc2tog, 1sc in each of the last 16 sts (17)

R17. sc2tog, 1sc in each of the last 15 sts (16)

Head

Cut yarn leaving about a 10 inch tail and fasten off.  Thread this tail onto your yarn needle and whipstitch through the front loop of all 6 sts, then pull to tighten and close up the hole.  Insert the yarn needle through the middle of the hole you just closed up, then weave it in to secure it and cut off any excess yarn.

Body

Make an adjustable ring with the pewter yarn.

R1. 6sc in the ring, pull to tighten (6)

R2. 2sc in each st around (12)

R3. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in the next st*, repeat * to * around (18)

R4. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in each of the next 2 sts*, repeat *to* around (24)

R5. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in each of the next 3 sts*, repeat *to* around (30)

R6. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in each of the next 4 sts*, repeat *to* around (36)

R7. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in each of the next 5 sts*, repeat *to* around (42)

R8. *2sc in the first st, 1sc in each of the next 6 sts*, repeat *to* around (48)

R9-21. 1sc in each st around (48)

R22. *sc2tog, 1sc in each of the next 6 sts*, repeat *to* to finish the round (42)

In these next two rounds you will be attaching the front legs.

R23. 1sc in each of the first 5 sts, hold up one of the front legs next to the body and place 1sc into the stitch directly right of the last stitch (in 2 photos below, hook in picture is used to define stitches to be crocheted, your hook will actually be facing the opposite direction in order to crochet the leg to the body), then continue by inserting your hook into the 6th stitch of the body (at this point you should have 4 loops on your hook, yarn over and pull through all 4 loops.  Continue joining the first leg in this manner with 1sc in each of the next 7 sts.

1sc in the next st (the body only, this is the space in between the front legs; see photo below, if needed, for reference)

Attach 2nd leg in the same manner as the first leg with one exception: you will begin attaching the leg by placing the first single crochet in the stitch directly left of the last stitch (see photo on the right) 1sc in each of the next 7 sts to finish joining the two pieces together.

Stuff the front legs, only lightly stuffing towards the top.

Stuff the legs.  Continue stuffing as needed while closing up the leg.

Cut yarn leaving about a 30-inch tail and fasten off.  Thread this tail onto your yarn needle and whipstitch through the front loop of all 5 sts, then pull to tighten and close up the hole.  Insert the yarn needle through the middle of the hole you just closed up, then out through the side of the leg. This will be used later to attach the leg to the body so be sure to bring the yarn out on the opposite side for each leg.

Tail

Make an adjustable ring with the white yarn.

R1. 4sc in the ring, pull to tighten (4)

R2. 2sc in each st around (8)

R3. 1sc in each st around (8)

R4. *2sc in the first st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts*, repeat *to* (10)

R5. 1sc in each st around (10)

Color change to pewter, cut the white yarn and weave it in as you continue with the pewter yarn.

R6-18. 1sc in each st around (10)

Cut yarn, fasten off, and leave abou a 15-inch tail for sewing.

Eyes

Make an adjustable ring with the black yarn.

R1. 6sc in the ring, pull to tighten (6)

R2. color change to baby blue, 2sc in each st around (12)

Cut black yarn and gently tie a knot on the back of the eye, cut off excess yarn.

Use a scrap amount of white yarn to make a glint or two in each eye and gently tie a knot and cut off any excess yarn.

Cut baby blue yarn leaving about a 20-inch tail for sewing.

Scarf

Chain 5 using the sunshine yarn.

R1. 1dc in the of the 3rd loop from the hook, 1dc in each of the next 2 sts, ch2, turn

R2. 1dc blo in each of the next 3 sts, ch 2, turn

Repeat R2 until you have 46 rows or when you reach your desired length.

Cut, fasten off, and weave in ends.  Cut six or eight 4-inch lengths of sunshine yarn and attach to ends of scarf to create fringe, trim if desired.

Assembly

  1. Stuff the body.
  2. Sew the head onto the body using the tail left after completing the body section.  Add more stuffing to the body as needed while sewing.
  3. Sew the hind legs onto the side of the body using the tail left after completing the hind leg section.
  4. Sew the ears onto the head using the tail left after completing the ear section.
  5. Stuff the tail and sew it onto the body.
  6. Sew the eyes onto the head using the baby blue tail left after completing the eye section.
  7. Embroider eyebrows, nose, and mouth using the black yarn.
  8. Wrap scarf around neck.
