The Perfect Summer Crochet Blanket Pattern
Design Description – The Fishnet Throw Blanket is worked in back and forth rows using a forked cluster stitch to create and open, airy blanket. This gives the finished blanket a beautiful texture while still feeling light and breathable for warmer months.
Each corner is finished with a playful tassel for a charming finishing touch, and maybe even a little blanket tassel flirting. After all, you’re never too old for a little fun.

Tools and Materials
- Size 3 yarn
- Lion Brand, Comfy Cotton Blend – 50% Cotton, 50% Polyester, 392 yd (358 m) / 7 oz (200 g), Whipped Cream
- US size H-8 (5mm) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge

- 5-inch cardboard square or book for making tassels (optional)

Special Stitches – Forked Cluster (FC) Instructions: Yo, insert hook in next available st, yo, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Yo, insert hook in same st, yo, pull up a loop (5 loops on hook). Yo and pull through first 4 loops on hook (2 loops on hook). Skip 1 st, yo, insert hook in next available st, yo, pull up a loop (4 loops on hook). Yo, insert hook in same st, yo, pull up a loop (6 loops on hook). Yo and pull through first 4 sts on hook (3 loops on hook). Yo and pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Fishnet Throw, A Crochet Blanket for Summer
The Pattern
CH 166 (211, 229, 256, 319)
Row 1: DC in the 3rd CH from the hook, DC in each st across, CH 2, turn. <164, 209, 227, 254, 317 sts>
Row 2: DC in 1st st, CH 1. *FC, CH 2; repeat from * across until 4 sts remain. FC, CH 1, DC in last st. CH 2, turn. <56, 69, 75, 84, 105 FC and 2 DC sts>
Row 3: DC in 1st st, CH 1. *FC in CH-2 spaces (CH-1 spaces if working the first or final FC of the row), CH 2; repeat from * across until 1 FC & CH 1 & DC from previous row remains. FC, CH 1; DC in last st. CH 2, turn. <56, 69, 75, 84, 105 FC and 2 DC sts>
Rows 4 – 92 (81, 92, 100, 100): Repeat Row 3.
Row 93 (82, 93, 101, 101): DC across by crocheting 1 DC in each CH-1 space, 1 DC in the top of each FC, and 2 DC in each CH-2 space. <164, 209, 227, 254, 317 sts>
Cut yarn, fasten off, and weave in all ends.
Tassels (make 4)
Wrap yarn around a 5-inch cardboard square or book approximately 60 times. Cut along the bottom edge to create 10-inch lengths of yarn.
Cut a separate long length of yarn and tie it around the center of the 10-inch strands to create a bundle. This will be the top of the tassel and where it will connect to the blanket.
Once tied, pick up the bundle and lay it down so all of the cut edges of the bundles are on the same side (opposite of the newly created top).
Cut another long length of yarn and wrap it around the bundle about 1-inch below the top of the tassel. Wrap it around several times and knot to secure.
Trim the bottoms of the tassels to even, if desired.
Attach one tassel to each corner of the blanket and weave in ends.
